What additional parts are required to install an AP-WRC4?

The only additional parts required to install an AP-WRC4 with a SeaTalk autopilot such as the ST1000 and ST2000 tiller pilots, or ST6000, SPX10, SPX30 etc. are:

  • 3-core screened (shielded) cable

  • 2 x mounting screws

  • 2 x CR2016 batteries for each fob

In addition to the above, a Raymarine SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter is required to connect an AP-WRC4 to an Evolution type autopilot such as the ACU100, ACU200 etc.

What autopilots does the AP-WRC4 work with?

The AP-WRC4 works with any Raymarine autopilot that has SeaTalk or SeaTalkng.  No additional parts (other than cable) are needed for connection to SeaTalk autopilots such as the ST1000 and ST2000 tiller pilots, or larger systems such as the ST6000, SPX10, SPX30 etc.

A Raymarine SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter is required to connect an AP-WRC4 to an Evolution type autopilot such as the ACU100, ACU200 etc.

Do the fobs come with batteries?

No. Due to shipping restrictions for lithium batteries, the fobs are not supplied with batteries. Please install 2 x CR2016 button cells in each fob.

How long does the remote control take to wake up?

Once switched on at the base unit, the remote control does not need to wake up before it can be used. Pressing a button on the fob provides instant operation at all times (assuming the batteries are good).

How waterproof are the fobs?

The fobs will withstand exposure to rain and spray but are not designed to be submerged in water. Having said that, they will most likely survive a brief dunking without any issues.

How waterproof is the base unit?

The base unit is not waterproof. Please install the base unit inside the cabin or in a locker to avoid exposure to the weather.
